In case you don’t live in New York or on the internet, Jay-Z and Kanye West dropped their second single “Otis” last night. And the fanboys almost all died at once.
This is the track, in case you missed it:
The reaction online has been split.
Wanted to love it. DYING to love it…but real talk I’m underwhelmed…and it’s a shame too since it’s my favorite Otis Redding track. I feel like they’re not saying anything new…it doesn’t feel fresh to me. I can’t love the song just because it’s THEM rapping…I hope this and HAM aren’t the best they have to offer.
Rflol…to nikkas “high off weed” talking ego based shitz with their grand parents “real” music blaring in the background …lmao!
It’s not that deep. Either u like it or not. I never understand all the extra. Your NOT famous! Why you mad? Well maybe that’s why your mad- nobody know you.
I love it
The shizzle getting real now! I love it and will be waiting to purchase the whole LP! Real Hip-hop!
I’m one of the biggest Kanye and Jay-Z fans but this is the first time I’ve ever said that one of their songs is WHACK! I’m sorry this is just not good at all. They’re talkin about the same thing they do in every other song “themselves” and it has nothing to do w/ the original Otis redding song! I’m so disappointed.
Lol @ gina…I totally agree…the song’s ok…I’ve heard better, I’ve heard worse…
I like Kanye when he has some substance to his music…I haven’t connected to anything Jay has made since reasonable doubt…Needless to say theres no growth to this just the same we’re rich and you’re not bull…they want to be kings but yet they sound like every other peon in the industry….
[…] Listen to “Otis” […]
Until we start holding these musicians accountable they will not make better music that that speaks to the people instead of bragging to the people. Umtimately we hold the power not them.
