No Hope For The Game: It Looks Like We Won't Have A 2011-2012 NBA Season
No Hope For The Game: It Looks Like We Won’t Have A 2011-2012 NBA Season…The Horror!
Bad news coming out of the NBA lockout situation, kids.
According to Billy Hunter, the chief of the NBA Player’s Association, we can kiss the next NBA season goodbye. “If I had to bet on it at this moment, I would probably say no,” Hunter said when asked if there would be a season coming up. Ugh…bad news. The two sides have until the end of October to get things together to get a full season. That isn’t a lot of time, so it doesn’t look hopeful.
Hunter says that the two sides are $800 million apart per year and there has to be some sort of common ground. He also said that the issue is the fact the owners want to split the revenue more in their favor. Currently, players make 57 percent of all NBA income, but they want a 50/50 split. The players are only willing to go down to 54 percent.
Whatever common ground they reach, we hope they reach it soon or LeBron will have to wait a whole year to redeem himself of his embarrassing NBA Finals. And we wouldn’t want that, would we?
