It looks like Oprah won’t be the only one with her own network.
Tyler Perry and the folks at Lions Gate are coming together to develop a cable network that will initially feature reruns of the director’s TV shows and movies. Then, they will try to pick up other shows that follow Perry’s Christian values and storytelling.
The network is rumored to be called “Tyler TV”. There is hesitation, though, as Oprah’s network has seen some struggling ratings since its mega-hyped debut. Execs want to make sure Tyler doesn’t have the same problem. There are also rumors that Perry and company will try to purchase an already-existing gospel channel and place his shows there.
Who knows if this will actually happen, but if so, will you be watching?
