What does it take to host a talk show these days? You need to know people, have a fun personality and know how to keep people’s attention whether it’s through your guests or your gift for gab. Oprah led the way for black people to get on television through talk and many followed (see big-haired radio legend Wendy Williams making a successful leap herself–“How YOU doin’?”). Some had huge success, getting people amped in the morning, the afternoon or keeping them up at night–others didn’t.
