For Discussion: Should Professional Athletes Be Allowed To Carry Weapons??
Are they endangering themselves or protecting themselves?
Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Darnell Dockett set off a fire of controversy yesterday when he tweeted that he almost brought his pistol into practice with him. The gun was stashed inside of his backpack and after noticing that the bag was heavier than normal, Dockett removed it and went into pracitice as usual. The sports media was polarized as some felt Dockett’s tweets were gloating about owning the weapon, while some understood that owning a gun as a pro athlete is a necessary part of personal protection.
