Hubby Hov Is GQ’s Cover King: Talks Yeezy’s OCD, His Father And Future Fatherhood

- By Bossip Staff

On providing for his new baby:

“Providing—that’s not love,” he says. “Being there—that’s more important. I mean, we see that. We see that with all these rich socialites. They’re crying out for attention; they’re hurting for love. I’m not being judgmental—I’m just making an observation. They’re crying out for the love that maybe they didn’t get at home, and they got everything. All the material things that they need and want. So we know that’s not the key.”

The Isley Brothers’ “Between the Sheets”—the epochal quiet-storm jam that Sean Combs built Biggie’s equally epochal “Big Poppa” around—comes on the restaurant’s speakers. Jay tunes out for a minute. “I grew up listening to this,” he says with a smile. That’s art workin’. I ask if little Bey-Z will grow up listening to his catalog, and Jay says of course—when the time comes, he’ll start with Reasonable Doubt, go from there. “There will be a lot of that,” he says. “And a lot of other records, all pivotal, important records. There’ll be Ready to Die, there’ll be Illmatic.”

So will the God MC be changing diapers?

“Of course, of course. One hundred percent.”

And will we see you putting the car seat in the Maybach?

“Yeah,” Jay smiles. “Wouldn’t that be great? That would be a great picture.”

Awwwww we love it! And how dope that he mentions both Biggie and Nas’ first albums as music he’ll make sure his kid hears with him.

Our favorite quote of all, when you continue.

Not blatant boasting? Yeah right! Listen to the lyrics! Not the bs he kicking in this interview! It WAS boasting. Which is all he does. Talk about how great he is and how everyone else is beneath him.

All people do is glorify Wealth&Materialism.Once god decides to return and Destroy America which will happen, and leave us all broke what good will JayZ status do him then?

@ Y’all hatin’….. Its cute of u to have JayZ’s back! I’m sure he’ll give u a shout out on his next song! I’m definitely not hatin’ on Jay, and by the way that word is sooo played out. It’s called a opinion and it’s how we feel, no hate, hate is such a strong word! If u are Jay’s biggest fan then good for u, but don’t expect or be surprised that some people don’t feel the same way! Jus’sayin’……

  • Common Cent$

I get his interpretation of the song I don’t see why people get so bent out of shape this is secular music so they are going to be boastful I’m not saying weather its right or wrong its just a fact a big reason people turn away from god is bcuz of how people talk about him I don’t recall anywhere in the bible that he’s coming back to destroy earth any who I don’t know if he believes in god or not hopefully he does @ topic I think this was a cute interview

  • therealdeal

That’s amazing how we all read the same things but develop totally different opinions…cause all I got was the guy was happy to finally be a father, amazed cause he got real money, and gave major props to fellow artists.

It just sounds like broke ppl gon do what broke ppl do best is hate.
