After all these weeks of not talking about the lil’ blond floozy in the room, Demi Moore issued a statement this afternoon announcing that her marriage is officially a wrap.
“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton,” Moore said in statement released by her publicist today. “As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation.”
Welp. You can’t say they didn’t try though… unlike another publicly messy couple.
Last weekend, the estranged spouses sought refuge in a surprising venue: Moore’s ex-husband Bruce Willis’ vacation home in Turks and Caicos. “They had to get away,” a source tells the new Us Weekly, on stands Friday. “Ashton’s tweeting [about Penn State] was the last straw.”
Really? Yeah, that probably made her realize how much of a liar he is… you know, claiming to know nothing about a child sex scandal 2-3 days in, even though you’re “an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation”.
