Poor lil ‘Lonte:
Delonte West won’t be going to the White House with the rest of his Dallas Mavericks teammates on Monday. “I’m banned from going to the White House, so I’m not going to make it,” West said after tonight’s (Sat.) 96-81 win over the New Orleans Hornets. “But I’m going home to D.C., I’m just not allowed to go to the White House. “That’s what happens when you make bad decisions in your life. You can’t go to the White House.”
West was pulled over for a traffic violation and arrested on Sept. 17, 2009 while riding his three-wheel motorcycle. Police found three weapons — a Remington 870, a 9mm Beretta pistol and a 357 Magnum — in a guitar case he was carrying. On July 21, 2010, West pleaded guilty to the weapons and traffic charges and was subsequently sentenced to unsupervised probation, psychological counseling, electronic monitoring and 40 hours of community service.
While the other 11 Mavs will be at the White House, West said he’ll be OK at his own home. “I’ve been there 100 times in my lifetime,” said West, who was born in D.C. “I live right around the corner. “I live in D.C. It’s going to be a shame the president isn’t going to get a chance to meet me. I’m the president of my house.”
Anyone who’s riding around on a three-wheeler carrying a guitar case full of all that heat should never be allowed to step foot in the White House. Real talk.
