The only cover that always sparks heated debates, fights and random chair throwing amongst hip-hop heads!

XXL is back at it with one of their biggest covers. The list has caused some ridiculous outrage already via Twitter due to the choice of artists featured and people left off of the yearly list.

XXL‘s summary of the list:

In the past five years that XXL has been picking Freshman classes, never once has making the list been easy. This year included. Similar to 2011, the hype around the Freshmen Class has continued to grow by leaps and bounds, surprising even us with its popularity. For this class the buzz began earlier than ever, four months before the cover was even shot. And it seemed like everyone had a list. From subdued music fans to diehard rap junkies, from Twitter stalkers to industry heavies and featherweights, folks wanted their list to be the XXL list. We listened, asked opinions, took notes.

We’re still trying to figure out who the hell half these people are. maybe we’re just getting old but from what we see… Basically, hipster sub genre rappers, a mediocre Morrocan, 3 average white rappers and some Atlanta Autotune ninjas. Thanks XXL.

Sound off when you see this list!

Machine Gun Kelly– Bad Boy’s latest white wild boy, the newcomer has gotten cosigned by heavyweights such as DMX, Diddy and Wacka Flocka Flame but in a sea of average white rappers, can he stand above the rest?

Danny Brown– Bossip’s NKOTB alumni has been getting tons of buzz lately after dropping his latest album “XXX” but many have written him off as hipster blog one trick pony.

Kid Ink– The tatted up Cali rapper has already drawn tons of attention and comparisons to Wiz Khalifa because of their rapping styles and themes… They both love that MARRRRRRRRRRRRY JAAAAAAAAAAAAANE!

Future– ATL native, Mr.Tony Montana topped the list after a crazy year of dropping hit mixtapes and remix with Drizzy. AT THE SAME DAMN TIME!

Roscoe Dash– We’re not sure why Roscoe made the Freshman list after being on the scene for over 3 years, dropping countless singles and even a full length album last month. Maybe they meant to put him on the “Junior List”.

Hopsin– Known infamously as the guy who dissed Tyler The creator the new artist has been making some noise on the underground scene after signing with Eazy E’s Ruthless Records, after leaving the label due to disputes with Eazy’s ex wife, the hardcore rapper has been making a name for himself on radio and TV.

We’re not sure how seriously to take a guy who was on “That’s So Raven” though.

Macklemore– The OTHER white guy on the list, we’re not sure who he is either but we don’t mind looking at him.

Don Trip– One of the most noted and critically acclaimed rapper’s on the list, Don has been on the music scene for a minute touring and making a name for himself. His latest mixtape hosted by DJ Drama titled Guerrilla has been making major splashes in the hip hop world.

Iggy Azalea– Another Bossip NKOTB alum hits the cover and that fact that she’s not too hard on the eyes makes it even better. The white girl on the scene that isn’t Kreayshawn, Iggy recently signed with Interscope and word on the street is T.I will be executive producing her debut album. We’re not sure if the wooty will ever be worth dropping $9.99 for an album but we sure will check out the pictures of her in the mean time.
