Vogue Discovers How Casper Bagged J.Lo “I Just Came Out Of A Relationship Where I Wasn’t Getting What I Needed”

On Being A Busy Mom:

To wit: On top of all her other projects, Lopez has been a spokesperson for Gillette, Fiat, and L’Oréal Paris, and sometimes catches grief for being spread too thin. When I say to her, “You have redefined busy,” she shoots back in a mock-sweet voice, “Benny loves busy!” But when I ask Medina to define just how unusually busy Lopez is, he brings up the twins, who turned four in February, to make his point: “They are the most traveled two babies besides the Jolie-Pitt children. She got very used to just scooping those kids up and going, whether it was European fashion shows, music-video sets, film locations, American Idol judging. She likes to work. The Jennifer DNA is based on work.”

The twins may not have slowed Lopez down, but they have clearly given her new perspective. “They do something to you where you want to do everything right for them,” she says. “And obviously no parent does everything right. It’s this weird thing that happens where you are striving to be as good as you can be so that they turn out well. And that requires that you be a really great, evolved, aware person in every moment. Which is pretty awesome. But it’s also putting tremendous pressure on yourself—which is why women feel so guilty!”

“By nature I am not tough, believe it or not.” Really? “No. I am a lover. And with my kids I am even softer. I realize with my son, I have to sometimes be tough, especially now when he’s pushing boundaries. With my daughter, I can get a little stern with her and she pretty much will listen. But my son will just scream and yell and run. I’m like, Aaaaah, what do I do with this?!”

On Her Boo Thang Casper Smart:

She describes herself as a “mushy romantic.” When I ask her what she can tell me about her boyfriend, she says, “Not much,” and giggles. “He’s adorable. But you already see that.” He seems very loving and sweet, I say. “He is. He really is. He’s a good egg. I don’t want to talk about it too much. It’s my private thing.”

The interviewer admits he doesn’t have the nerve to ask about the age difference, but he gets a pretty good answer out of manager Benny Medina:

“She’s not oblivious to her own reality right now, as in, Damn, I’m 42 with a 24-year-old. Why? We talked about it yesterday. She was just like, ‘It’s not even the age, Benny. It’s actually that I just came out of a relationship where I felt like I was kind of not getting what I needed. And I’m open! So somebody who steps in right now and is actually touching me in a way—it’s very fertile ground!’ ”

“The thing that I always sort of wished is that she would give herself time to just naturally meet someone,” he says, “instead of having nearly obsessive guys pursue her. The ease with which that obsession becomes a relationship I think sometimes works against her ability to have a real meaningful relationship.” He goes on: “And she never half does anything. When she commits to anything in her work, her life, or her relationships, she is in it. I’m not telling you anything I haven’t told her. And I think to her detriment, the will of Jennifer is so strong that she believes that it can actually change who someone is and how they relate to her.”

In other words, this beyotch don’t know how to be alone and she just falls for the first schlong she happens to come across that is poking her in the leg. Basically.

She does look great though. We don’t know how long this Casper guy is going to last but it seems like as long as he is laying the pipe right he’s in there like swimwear.
