Recently conservative bloggers and media groups have been using Trayvon Martin‘s alledged Twitter account and appearance to blame him for his own death. Social media has often been criticized for damaging peoples’ ability to maintain privacy. However, in the case of Trayvon Martin, it’s enabling media and police to paint a supposedly more “accurate” picture of the deceased.
Martin reportedly tweeted under the handle “NO_LIMIT_NI$$A,” an account that was closed shortly after his death. Many outlets have been RTing and reporting Trayvon’s last tweets in an attempt to validate the teen’s death and associate him with drug and gang violence.
The alledged twitter page has been disabled and it should be noted that neither Twitter nor the Martin family has confirmed that these tweets belong to Trayvon Martin. However, many close friends have come out via twitter to acknowledge “NO_LIMIT_NI$$A” was indeed Trayvon’s twitter handle.
Do you think the the current exposure of his twitter page is a fair assessment of his character or just fuel for the fire set ablaze against the memory of Trayvon Martin?? Check out some the alleged tweets from Trayvon and make the call for yourself…
