Mary J. Blige’s Foundation Pays Overdue College Payments For Scholarship Recipient

Well that’s the LEAST they could do for this poor girl:

Mary J. Blige’s foundation finally hit the right note, paying the overdue college bills for a scholarship student it stiffed. The nonprofit ponied up the cash for Bronx student Gennevive Sarfoah’s debt at SUNY Canton two days after a Post exposé on the troubled charity, a source said.

The college received an electronic payment of $2,459 — but Sarfoah’s tuition for next year is still unpaid, the source said. In 2010, Blige’s group, known as FFAWN, promised full, four-year scholarships to Sarfoah and 24 other graduates of the Women’s Academy of Excellence in The Bronx. The mismanaged charity failed to make good, bouncing checks to some colleges, The Post revealed. FFAWN had stopped paying SUNY Canton after January 2011.
