Rising filmmaker Lawrence Lamont has collaborated with The Art Direction, to produce his latest
work – Say Cheese, a 36-minute short film set to premiere at film festivals this fall.
Detroit, MI, June 26, 2012 – The collaboration with The Art Direction stays true to the young
filmmaker’s commitment to making artistic films from every perspective of the human experience.
Written and directed by Lawrence Lamont, Say Cheese is the whimsical story of a lonely
photographer living a mundane existence on the fringes of a small town when happiness
unexpectedly creeps into his world and his reality goes in and out of focus.
The film short, an unconventional love story, unveils the hope that lies within each soul longing for a
deeper connection; exploring the evolution of self. “This film is an emotional crash course that
resolves in a mysterious way,” Says Lamont. “ We are able to see the true power of love and its
ability to shift a person’s existence.” The film is a refreshing tale that beautifully finds a new way to
tell the oldest story in the book.

Mathis (native Detroiter, TV star) and Dwele (R&B star, native Detroiter) and has made the young
