She’s his queeeeeeeeeeeeen!
Earlier this month we reported that NBA baller Dirk Nowitzki married his Kenyan born longtime boo-thang Jessica Olsson.
Now photos have now surfaced of the beautiful bride and groom dressed in traditional Kikuyu garments during the ceremony:
The short version of the Kikuyu wedding that is meant to announce to the community that the daughter is engaged provided relatives from both sides with an opportunity to get to know each other and conclude ruracio (dowry payments) discussions. When a couple goes through the ruracio phase, their wedding is officially recognized by customary laws.
The bride Jessica was also presented with a kiondo (handwoven bag) by elderly kikuyu women. She had to demonstrate how she would go to the market and shop for her husband. Later the couple and their guests danced to mugithi tunes
These two are a shining example of how to make a multi-culti wedding work. Congrats to the new couple!
