Philly was on and poppin’ this Labor Day weekend!
Over 40,000 people made the musical pilgrimage to Philadelphia this weekend for a festival that included over 20 acts, a gang of surprise performances and a history making night of music. The 2012 Made In America festival kicked off Saturday, Sept. 1, at the city’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway where attendees came out in droves to see Maybach Music Group, D’Angelo, Janelle Monae and Jay Electronica.
Undoubtedly the man of the hour, Jay closed out the festival with an incredible show that included some of his biggest hits. Also on hand of sorts was President Barack Obama who gave a special video message and encouraged the crowd to vote.
After Jay returned and thanked the audience for being so “good” to him, another surprise in the form of Kanye West and his G.O.O.D. music collective was added. Kanye, Common, Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz took over the fest until the Roc Nation head returned to close with his ‘Throne’ collaborator on “N—- In Paris.”
So,if you missed this history making event, hit the flip to catch the best moments from the festival next…
