That’s disgusting. Some people will say anything to stay out of jail. That’s what we hope is the case of a pair of siblings popped in Massachusetts for trying to take a TV from a bar bathroom.
According to NYDailyNews reports:
A brother-sister duo used a distressing defense — they were having sex — when they were allegedly found in the bathroom of a Massachusetts bar trying to swipe the TV, according to police.
The incident unfolded Sunday night at Samuel’s Sports Bar at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, where adult siblings Robert and Amanda Larrivee are accused of attempted theft, MassLive.com reported Tuesday.
A patron using the women’s room said she heard a man and woman come in and then try to take the TV set. The woman dashed out while the suspects were preoccupied.
“The witness quickly told the manager what happened, and the manager and another employee locked the door to the ladies’ room so the pair could not escape. And police were called to the scene,” Springfield police Sgt. John Delaney told MassLive.com.
Police responded to the scene after 9 p.m. and questioned the pair. That’s when the Larrivees reportedly claimed to be engaged in a restroom rendezvous.
Cops also said the two had tried earlier to lift the TV from the men’s room.
Robert Larrivee, 38, of West Springfield, Mass., and Amanda Larrivee, 30, of Deerfield Beach, Fla., were charged with larceny exceeding $250, reported ABC affiliate WGGB-TV.
Robert Larrivee also faces a charge of threatening to commit a crime after he allegedly threatened to harm the arresting officer.
The siblings were arraigned in Springfield District Court on Monday.
These two look like they are liable to have been trying to steal TV’s while chopping each other down. SMH.
