Madonna Scrambles for Custody

Madonna snubbed a family get together in favour of urgent talks with her divorce lawyer after flying back to Britain. Within minutes of the singer arriving at her former marital home yesterday, ex-husband Guy Ritchie and their children left in a blacked-out car. By early afternoon, top divorce lawyer Fiona Shackleton was summoned for a meeting with Madge that continued into the evening.

Throughout the day Madonna, 50, received several large items of furniture including a piano and a portrait as she began altering the house she once shared with Guy.

The singer, who has just completed her Sticky and Sweet World Tour, is understood to have kept the property as a London base for when the children visit their father.

A source close to the couple said: “It doesn’t look like Madonna is that keen on having a family Christmas.“The first thing she did when she arrived was have a meeting with her divorce lawyer. That won’t make things any easier when she is trying to keep things civil over the dinner table at Christmas. “It remains to be seen how much time Madonna and Guy will spend together as they’ve started off by doing their best to avoid each other.”

Madonna and Guy were granted a quickie divorce on November 21 but are yet to finalize their custody arrangements for the children. But with Madonna pushing forward with meetings with her lawyer, even at Christmas, insiders say it won’t be too long before it is settled.

The source added: “Guy and Madonna are keen to tie things up quickly so that they attract as little media attention as possible. “They want to move on quickly for the sake of the kids.”

Damn, that old cougar is already redecorating. Sources also say that Madonna has come face-to-face with Ritchie for the first time since their split to allow the children to spend some time with their dad. Let’s hope they can come to a reasonable conclusion regarding custody – as if the kids need to cope with all their bullsh*t. SMH.
