SMH at this guy trying to shoot up the repo man!

Via News-Journal Online:

A homeowner near New Smyrna Beach went after two repo men with a loaded shotgun after the men came to his house to take his vehicle, Sheriff’s officials said. Scott Higdon, 47, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Tuesday after he followed the two workers, his loaded weapon in the front seat of his vehicle, Volusia County sheriff’s spokesman Brandon Haught said.

The two men had gone to Higdon’s residence in the 1200 block of Whispering Pines Drive near New Smyrna Beach at 3 p.m. to talk to him about repossessing a vehicle, Haught said. Instead they were greeted by Higdon at the front door, a rifle in hand, Haught said. The two repo men got in their tow truck to leave, when they heard a gunshot behind them, Haught said. Higdon had fired a round into a tree and was going after the repo men in his car.

The repo men stopped at an intersection and called 9-1-1. A New Smyrna Beach policeman arrived and moments later, Higdon drove up in his car with his shotgun, Haught said. Higdon told the officer that he had seen two men in his front yard. He said he grabbed his shotgun and went to the front door. He admitted he fired a shot, then got into his car and followed them to see who they were, Haught said.

When the officer asked Higdon why he didn’t call the authorities, Higdon replied, “Yeah I guess I should have done that.” Higdon was out of the Volusia County Branch Jail on $2,500 bail and did not return a message left Wednesday.

Tough life out there.
