Man Shoots Girlfriend In Argument Over "The Walking Dead" Show

We might really be living in the last days but if we’re not, idiots like this will end up putting plenty of us in early graves.

A New York man who got into a fight over whether the world could really face a crisis like the one showcased on AMC’s “The Walking Dead” picked up a gun to really drive his point home.

Via National Enquirer reports:

A Long Island, New York devotee of rotting flesh TV show “The Walking Dead” Jared Gurman, 26, stand accused by cops of blasting his girlfriend in the back with a .22-caliber rifle following heated argument over the TV show “The Walking Dead,” .

Gurman allegedly plugged his girlfriend, Jessica Gelderman, 27, outside his Williston Park home after the plausibility of a zombie apocalypse, NBC 4 New York reported.

“He felt very adamant there could be a military mishap that would result in some sort of virus being released that could cause terrible things to happen,” Detective Lt. Raymond Cote told media.

“She felt it was ridiculous. He’s passionate about it. And it escalated from there.”

After the blowout Jessica Gelderman left home but the argument continued, escalating via Text.

When she returned to Gurman’s home around 2:30 a.m., he was waiting outside the door with a .22-caliber rifle cocked.

“She tried to diffuse the situation, to calm him down,” Det. Lt. Cote said. “She was walking up the stairs when Mr. Gurman raised the rifle, pointed it as her and fired one round into her back, causing serious injury.”

Cote said Gelderman suffered a shattered rib, a pierced lung, a pierced diaphram and remains in serious, but stable condition.

On the Zombie lover’s Facebook page he posted his favorite quote:

“When there’s no more room in hell the dead will walk the earth. The living won’t have a prayer cause it’s the dawn of the dead.”

For fact checkers — That’s a line from the seminal George Romero zombie flick – not “The Walking Dead”.

We love this show too, but this is a bit extreme. Besides, you don’t shoot your girlfriend until AFTER she gets bitten by walkers!
