Is it REALLY that serious?!?
Father Of High School Athlete Posts Facebook Message About Shooting Up Rival School
Jeff Berni, a 39-year-old disgruntled father of a high school basketball player, sent shock waves through the Camas, Wash., community with a disturbing and ill-conceived Facebook post.
The comment, which Berni has since called “stupid,” was apparently posted in a fit of anger following a confrontation with a group of Camas students near the gymnasium’s exit, said Josh Gibson, athletic director for the Camas school district.
Even though the Skyview Storm beat the Camas Papermakers 44-42, Berni apparently could not contain his anger.
“He flipped kids off. He had some negative reaction (about the game),” Gibson said. “Exactly what is said, we don’t know.”
Parents and students reportedly read the post on their smartphones before exiting the building and did not feel safe afterward, reported local newspaper The Columbian.
So his kid’s team won the game, and this a$$hole STILL wants the school shot up?! SMMFH
As egregious as the Facebook message is, the cops say the poor sport papa won’t be charged with a crime.
“While Berni’s actions were alarming, his actions did not reach the level of a criminal action,” the police department said in a release.
“What it did comes down to: it’s not against the law to wish harm on somebody else,” said Camas police Sgt. Scott Boyles.
It’s ok, we’re sure some mischievous kids will find a way to make Berni’s life a little uncomfortable in the upcoming weeks.
