Beyonce Talks Lip Syncing And Blue Ivy During Super Bowl Press Conference
Earlier today, the annual Super Bowll Halftime media press conference was held in New Orleans and look-at-me-Bey finally addressed all the chit-chatter surrounding her lip syncing Inauguration fiasco, whether or not Destiny’s Child will perform with her, why she’s chosen to be so revealing lately and more.
Bey began the press conference by belting out the entire National Anthem acapella during the live press conference for every one to hear and then blurting out “any questions?” immediately following. How classy.
Check out a few excerpts from the press conference below:
On lip syncing during Inauguration:
“I am a perfectionist. I practice until my feet bleed and I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. Due to the weather delay and no proper sound check, I didn’t feel comfortable taking a risk. This was an emotional show for me, so I decided to use the pre-recorded track. This day was about President Obama.”
On whether or not Destiny’s Child will take the Super Bowl stage:
“Well, I can’t really say too much unfortunately. We did just put out a new single, though. It was so exciting to hear us together again. There’s nothing like the sisterhood we have so it’s always exciting to be around them professionally and personally.”
On how she feels about performing at the Super Bowl:
“I’m so anxious [about the Superbowl]. I’m still very nervous.”
On her upcoming documentary:
“It was very interesting directing and editing myself and still putting it in the film. I feel like it’s time for people to really get to know me and to see a different side. I’m curious and scared but it’s too late; its coming out. I’m happy.”
On why she decided to be so open about Blue Ivy in the documentary:
“I feel like my job is to protect her and I’m happy to tell my story, my way.”
On whether or not she will sing live on Sunday:
“I will absolutely be singing live. I am well rehearsed and this was what I was born to do. I always sing live. This Inauguration was unfortunately a time where I could not rehearse because I was rehearsing for the Superbowl. But [singing live] was always the plan.”
On getting back to her family and taking a break after the Super Bowl:
“I’m going to enjoy my daughter. I miss her and I keep telling her mommy will be done Sunday at 9:00.”

“About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time,” Jay-Z’s wife says.
“And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life. … [but] I flew back to New York to get my check up – and no heartbeat. Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat.”
According to Us Weekly, Beyonce shares that the pain was made worse by the fact that she was so ready and eager to be a mom.
“I picked out names,” she says. “I envisioned what my child would look like . . . I was feeling very maternal.”
Beyonce managed to work through the pain over time though, and says one main factor in helping her heal was her music.
“I went into the studio and wrote the saddest song I’ve ever written in my life. And it was the best form of therapy for me, because it was the saddest thing I’ve ever been through,” she says.
