It’s that time of year again. XXL is back with its picks for who’s the next great crop of MCs. Each year, the list is a source of controversy and something MCs aspire to reach. This year has some really dope talent but we’re sure others will feel left out. With that said, here are your 2013 XXL Freshmen.

Trinidad James – He’s got the hottest song in the country so naturally he’s making the list.

Action Bronson – This NY MC is one of the most entertaining in the game. Well-deserved for Bronsolino.

Schoolboy Q – He’s Kendrick Lamar’s right hand man and one of the dopiest out. He’s the new 50 Cent.

Ab-Soul –He’s also in TDE with Kendrick Lamar and one of the best out. His last album Control System is damn near classic.

Joey Bada$$ – He’s barely legal and an excellent MC. Rumor has it Jay-Z has been trying to sign him.

Angel Haze – She’s another dope female MC you should check out, too.

Dizzy Wright – He’s another top lyricist here we’re glad made the list.

Logic – Um. We don’t know who this guy is lol.

Travi$ Scott – He’s signed to G.O.O.D. Music so you know he’s destined for great things.
