The crazies done broke out the loony bin in Kenya y’all!

Via DailyMail reports:

Police have launched a manhunt for 40 mentally ill patients who overpowered guards to break out of hospital in Kenya.

The patients, all men, escaped from Mathari Mental Hospital, Kenya’s biggest mental hospital, early on Sunday morning after forcing the doors open.

The escapees were among 75 who broke out from a ward but the remainder 35 were unable to escape the hospital compound in Nairobi.

Standard Media in Kenya reported that the patients had escaped after complaining that their medicine did not work.

The hospital reported the mass escape to Muthaiga Police on Sunday evening and a manhunt has begun.

According to Capital FM, Starehe divisional police chief Samuel Anampiu said: ‘We have all their particulars and including their pictures and that will make it easy for us to identify them.’

Human rights activists called for an investigation into the state-run hospital after a CNN documentary about alleged abuses at the facility aired in 2011. A dead body was found in an isolation cell with another patient, the documentary reported.

The hospital is a national referral hospital for psychiatry and the main teaching psychiatric hospital for the country.

SMH. This sounds nuts. We hope none of these folks pose a danger to themselves or others.
