Artist Marina Abramovic, the grandmother of performance art, has been all over the Soho real estate market lately. Last summer she sold a loft at 70 Grand Street for $3.2 million, and just last month she purchased a $2.65 million apartment in Soho’s Urban Glass House. And in a deal that just hit public record yesterday, spotted by Coopsales.com, she sold another piece of property: the pooltastic townhouse at 54 King Street. The buyer is fashion designer Riccardo Tisci, who is paying $3.063 million for the house. (It was asking $5.79 million in 2011.)
One reason the place might have sold at a discount is that it’s currently configured as a two-family house, according to the most recent listing. How those two halves differ:
“This 21′ wide property features a modern and minimalist-inspired lower half with high ceilings and loft-like rooms facing the back garden complete with a full-sized heated swimming pool and rare Japanese landscaping details. Limestone floors, a sleek kitchen and exquisite bathrooms are complemented by the floor to ceiling south-facing glass windows allowing for streaming natural light. The upper unit is comprised of living/dining/kitchen on one level, and bedrooms with a large private terrace on the other.
