LeBron James Becomes 7th NBA Player to Reach 30,000 Career Points

LeBron James has scored a minimum of 10 points in 836 consecutive games, so it was pretty clear that being just 7 points away from a huge milestone, James was going to accomplish something huge in a game against San Antonio on Tuesday . That prediction became a reality as LeBron became only the seventh player in NBA’s entire history to score 30,000 career points. James also has the distinction of being the youngest to break the 30,000-point mark at 33

The other members of this incredibly exclusive club include the still-active Dirk Nowitzki, Wilt Chamberlain (31,419), Michael Jordan (32,292), Kobe Bryant (33,643), Karl Malone (36,928) and all-time leader Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387).  Now, everyone is wondering where LeBron will end up among this list,  having passed a huge milestone. He could likely pass up Chamberlain and Jordan next year, but in order to beat Abdul-Jabbar, LeBron would likely need five more years if he stays consistent at his current pace of around 1,900 points per season.

Unsurprisingly, one of the first people to congratulate LeBron on his achievement (before it even happened) was LeBron. He spoke to his high school self in an Instagram post, telling him he should be proud of the accomplishment and tells his former self, “Congrats Young King.” You can tell this milestone is a huge moment of reflection for James and he’s soaking it in all he can.

Congrats, Bron!
