Diddy Criticizes Black Celebrity Fashion At The 2013 BET Awards

The BET Awards are known for showcasing what’s current in all aspects of African-American pop culture including music, movies, sports and even fashion. There’s usually a pretty good mix of fashion-forward looks and flat out fawkery on the BET Awards red carpet, but this year’s fashions left much to be desired and little to be remembered, according to Bad Boy records bossman and entreprenuer extraordinaire Diddy.

We rarely hear celebrities offer honest and constructive criticism to their peers, even when the general public majority seems to be in agreement about their foolishness, but last night Diddy offered up more than a little advice along with a side of subliminal shade to his famous friends who attended the event:

Despite the fact that he was seemingly taking shots at his limelight buddies, Diddy insisted that he wasn’t coming from a place of negativity:

Diddy does have a pretty good point, but we also remember a time when he was the leader of the shiny suit squad himself. Maybe someone said these words to him once upon a time.
