Tennessee Man Arrested For Confronting Racist Neighbor With Shotgun

SMH… This racial ish is so touchy right now. A Tennessee man was arrested for aggravated assault after taking offense to his racist neighbor.

Racial slurs landed a black man in jail Sunday after he thought the epithets were directed at him and confronted the name-caller with a shotgun.

According to a police report, a 37-year-old white man told officers an unknown black man approached his wife in the 200 block of Needmore Road just before 7 p.m. and told her she would drive him to a store. He further told her he was a preacher, but he ran away when her husband asked him to prove he was a pastor.

The man said he yelled racial slurs at the black man, in an attempt to have him return. Meanwhile, the man’s neighbor, who is black, heard the slurs from behind a fence, and he told officers the epithets were directed at him.

The two men argued, and the white man went to his apartment, where the other man thought he was going to retrieve a gun because of the racial slurs directed at him, the report said. The neighbor then went to his apartment and returned with a 12-gauge shotgun.

The man told officers his neighbor had the shotgun at his hip and pointed in his direction. The neighbor told police the weapon was not loaded, and it was pointed at the ground, adding that when he realized the other man was not armed, he handed the gun to his brother and told him to take it back to his residence.

A witness told officers he heard the man yell the racial slurs toward his neighbor, but he didn’t see a shotgun, according to the report.

Police placed under arrest, Christopher Dean Hyche, 24, who gave a 271 White Oak Drive, Apt. F, address, and charged him with aggravated assault and simple drug possession. Bond was set at $1,250.

It’s a good thing no one was hurt. Sounds like everyone was in an aggressive mood and it could have gone way left.
