Hi Hater: Ain’t Isht Staten Island Man Tries Selling Girlfriend’s Baby On Craigslist For $100 Because She Wasn’t Giving Him Enough Attention

This guy could have gotten a lot worse than arrested if he was messing with one of our relatives’ babies like this!

Via NYDailyNews reports:

A Staten Island man angry his girlfriend wasn’t paying him enough attention tried to sell her two-month-old daughter on Craigslist for $100 — and at least one person told the mom he wanted to buy her daughter, law enforcement sources said Monday.

Paul Marquez, 22, was charged with three misdemeanors — authority to place or board out children, aggravated harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned last Thursday, is being held on $1,000 bail and is due back in court Tuesday, a spokesman for Staten Island District Attorney Daniel Donovan said.

According to court papers, Marquez admitted he “did all this to get back at Katie,” referring to his 19-year-old girlfriend, Katie Devalle.

He also admitted to placing the Craigslist ad early last week, with the baby’s picture and Devalle’s number.

He posted the ad in the For Sale, “Baby + Kid” section with $100 in the price box, sources said.

The ad was quickly flagged, sources said, but a brazen Marquez placed a second one.

At about the same time, the Administration for Childrens Services got a tip and contacted the NYPD.
The Computer Crimes Squad tracked the ad to an IP address, which traced back to Marquez address.

Marquez, himself the father of a two-year-old girl, and Devalle had met online recently and had dated a few times, sources said.

“But she works and between her job and the newborn she didn’t have enough time for this knucklehead,” one source said.

Marquez allegedly added, “The reason I decided to put this post was because I got bored and wanted to get a little laugh and a little kick out of it, but nothing serious.”

Investigators were still seeking the person who called in response to the ad, sources said.

What a dummy. He should have stopped after the ad was flagged the first time! There’s so many better ways he could have gone about getting attention.
