Florida Sheriff Questions Why Black College President Would Allow Kendrick Lamar And Ludacris Perform

Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott claims FGCU and its president are condoning use of the N-word, degradation of women, drug use and violence by sponsoring a concert with rappers Ludacris and Kendrick Lamar.

In a series of emails The News-Press obtained through public records requests, Scott challenges President Wilson Bradshaw to overrule a student group’s decision to bring the nationally known rappers to Southwest Florida.

“I am amazed that a black university president would sanction such a disgrace; especially during the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s speech,” Scott wrote to his senior staffers.

Scott sent a similar message directly to Bradshaw: “I can’t for the life of me begin to imagine why a black university president would sanction such vile content.”

Ludacris and Kendrick Lamar have censored versions that play on the radio, but Scott shared uncensored lyrics in his emails that contain numerous vulgarities, including derivatives of the N-word that “glamorize racial slurs.”

Scott asked his legal department whether he could decline requests for off-duty deputies to work security detail, like it did for a Girls Gone Wild request, or if it could bill FGCU for an enormous manpower demand by citing “the pattern of local and national trends for heightened violence at these hip-hop shows.” Scott also recommended that Lee County government deny an event permit for the concert, which is slated for Nov. 24 at JetBlue Park.

Past Eaglepalooza performers include Pitbull, Flo Rida, Busta Rhymes, Sean Paul and LMFAO. This year’s Eaglepalooza budget is $250,000, according to Mike Rollo, vice president for student affairs. The money comes from a student activities fee and ticket sales.

“They develop a wish list of acts they’d like to see here,” Rollo said, explaining that dates, artists and prices must align. “It’s always been considered a hip-hop concert.”

So now the white man is literally trying to police black entertainment???? GTFOHTBS!

Flip it over to read the emails that were exchanged between these two.
