Woman Arrested After Concealing Drugs As Tampon

It’s a tampon, not a bag of drugs.

That appears to be the crux of what Alisa Stone, 43, told Stuart police Sept. 26 as she walked home from her job at the Paper Moon gentleman’s club, according to a recently released arrest affidavit.

In the end, the officer didn’t fall for the apparent feminine hygiene hijinks, plucking a bag of pot from Stone’s bag.

The case began about 10:30 p.m. as an officer saw a woman later identified as Stone walking on the road in the bicycle lane in the 1000 block of North Federal Highway despite the presence of a sidewalk.

She said she was walking home because her ride didn’t show up, and that she had prior arrests related to drugs “amongst other things.”

The officer checked to see whether Stone had warrants before giving her a written warning for not using the sidewalk. The officer asked whether any drugs were in her bag, and she said no. The officer asked to search her bag.

“Stone asked me why I wanted to search her bag and I told her that I wanted to make sure she had no drugs on her based on her telling me that she had been arrested in the past for drugs,” an affidavit states.

She opened her bag and the officer saw a plastic bag with suspected doobage inside.

Asked about the plastic bag, Stone said it was a tampon. The officer said it didn’t look like a tampon.

Marijuana typically is green and smoked, while tampons typically are not green and are not smoked.

Stone removed a tampon from the bag, and the officer again spotted the plastic bag, which contained a small amount of marijuana.

Stone, of the 1800 block of Southeast North Buttonwood Drive in Port St. Lucie, was arrested on misdemeanor marijuana and drug paraphernalia charges.
