Construction Workers Finds Woman Tied Up In Basement

This poor old lady.

According to NY Daily News:

Construction workers found their boss, an 83-year-old woman who hired them to do house repairs, tied up and gagged with duct tape in the basement of her Indiana home.

The elderly woman was dehydrated, exhausted and unable to supply much detail about her ordeal, Lt. Chris Bailey of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police told the Daily News on Monday.

“She’s dehydrated and exhausted. The details are sketchy,” he said. Police are investigating the case as a home-invasion robbery. “She said multiple people had come in the house. We’re not sure how they got in. We didn’t see any signs of forced entry,” Bailey said. It’s not yet known if anything was taken, he said.

A neighbor said she’d seen the woman outside her home on Saturday. It’s not clear how long the woman was trapped in the basement. The construction workers arrived Monday to continue replacing the siding on her house, but no one answered the door. The back door was open, Bailey said. The laborers heard sounds coming from the basement and found the bound woman.

She is now hospitalized. Investigators hope to get more information from her as her condition improves.

Thank God the construction workers showed up. SMH.
