One of our favorite earth-girls, India Arie, has dropped a new album and it fared pretty well in its first week:

In at no. 3 is a brand new album from singer India Arie. The new release, titled Testimony: Vol. 2 — Love & Politics opens with 76,000 copies sold, following up 2006’s Testimony: Vol. 1, which debuted at no. 1 with 161,000 sold.

Two spots down, at no. 5, is British singer Lily Allen’s It’s Not Me, It’s You, selling 70,000 copies, while Bobby V’s latest The Rebirth enters the charts at no. 7, selling 64,000 units, thanks to his new single “Beep.”

Best New Artist Grammy winner, Adele, climbed from no. 27 to no. 10 this week with her album 19, thanks to a 218% sales bump of 57,000 copies this week. The Grammy Nominees 2009 compilation also saw a sales surge, jumping to no. 9 with 61,000 albums sold this week.

That does it for the top 10.

Beyonce’s I Am … Sasha Fierce calls to no. 12 with just over 50,000 units scanned this week, putting her over the 1.8 million mark.

Lonely Island’s new album, Incredibad, debuted right behind B at no. 13, selling nearly 50,000 to start, while Jamie Foxx’s Intuition moves another 40,000 to put him at no. 14.

And rounding out the top 20 is T.I.’s Paper Trail, selling just over 30,000 to put him at no. 18, and almost to the 1.7 million sales mark.

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III was at no. 29 this week, selling another 27,000 copies, putting the album at triple platinum status.

There was one more new release this week on the charts. It was Ryan Leslie’s self-titled album, opening at no. 35 with nearly 24,000 copies sold.

According to Billboard.com, sales are up 16.8% compared to last week, but are off by 12.6% compared to the same week in 2008.

India Arie is pretty nice with it, y’all.  It might be very worth your while to have this album in your R & B collection.
