Woman Calls 911 Over Missing Crab Legs Then Assaults Police Officer
An early morning burglary report turned into an encounter with a woman grumpy about a missing bag of crab legs, according to recently released records.
Via TCPalm reports:
The case of the woman crabby about crab legs began about 12:10 a.m. Oct. 17 as police went to Georgia Avenue and South 15th Street in Fort Pierce in connection with a possible burglary.
An officer spoke with Lisa Matos, 52, who said she got home and noticed food was missing.
“All my (fornicating) food is gone,” Matos is quoted as saying. Police noted Matos was intoxicated and used “excessive profanity.”
Matos, who lives in the 800 block of South 15th Street, said she pays rent by buying food for the household and “is very angry due to a missing bag of crab legs,” a report states.
Crab legs are the legs of crab, a crustacean known for pinching.
Crab varieties include dungeness, blue, stone, king and snow, with most crabs possessing a rigid exoskeleton. Popular crab dishes include crab newburg, crab cakes, crab bisque and boiled crab claws.
Meanwhile, an officer determined there was no crime, but Matos kept yelling foul language at neighbors and police.
As police spoke to Matos, she went in the home, grabbed a bunch of chicken and tried to walk away.
“I’ll (fornicating) get all of you, this is my (fornicating) chicken,” Matos is quoted as saying.
Police handcuffed Matos and put her in a patrol vehicle.
She declined to give her name or date of birth, saying, “‘(Fornicate) you, I’m not giving you my name,'” a report states.
The report didn’t state what happened to the bag of crab legs.
Matos was arrested on charges including disorderly intoxication and resist officer-obstruct without violence.
