Skateboard P is at the top of his game and GQ recognized him as such by bestowing him “Hitmaker Of The Year” honors in their Men of the Year issue — which hits newsstands today:

Pharrell Williams is named “Hitmaker of the Year” in GQ’s new Men of the Year issue. Recognized for his incredible, chart-topping year—one in which “Blurred Lines” and “Get Lucky” (two songs Pharrell was involved with) duked it out at the top of the charts—the 40 year-old musician explains to GQ why he thinks the two songs were so well-received this year. “Both songs are for people who need a break,” he explains. “There’s a lot of f***ed-up travesty in the world. Sometimes you just need a Hallmark card. Sometimes you just need to shake your a**.”

Pretty much… Pharrell really has had a banner year, but GQ points out in their feature story that he hasn’t had multiple hits simultaneously climb such heights on the charts since over a decade ago.
