Kanye Seeks Legal Action Against Coin Company

What were they thinking? Kanye’s head is way too big to be on some money.

According to Vibe:

Even Kanye West himself won’t cash into his own currency. ‘Ye’s legal team issued a cease-and-desist letter to the seven anonymous “Coinye” creators, stating “the currency is trademark infringement,” TIME reports.

Within the letter, the “Power” rapper’s lawyer Brad Rose said “Given Mr. West’s wide-ranging entrepreneurial accomplishments, consumers are likely to mistakenly believe that Mr. West is the source of your services.”

The crypto-currency was set to launch Jan. 11, but instead pushed its availability to today (Jan. 7) at 7 p.m. despite legal action.

“We want to release this to the public before the man can try to crush it,” the “Coinye” coders told the Wall Street Journal. “They’ll still come after us, but that’s OK.”

People don’t care to hear Kanye run his loud-azz mouth in interviews and they damn sure don’t want him in their pocket.
