As you may or may not know, Terrell Owens was released from the Cowboys the other day. The way it was done was upfront and personal:

On Wednesday night in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Jones; his son Stephen, the club’s executive vice president; Owens; and Owens’ agents, Drew and Jason Rosenhaus, held a much more private and somber get-together. Already in Florida for an NFL meeting, Jones wanted to tell Owens face to face that the Cowboys would be moving on without him in 2009. In a matter of minutes, the meeting was over, handshakes exchanged, and Owens sent a text message to some teammates explaining he was no longer a Cowboy. How did it go from June’s news conference, when it appeared the Cowboys and Owens had the last laugh on the rest of the NFL, to Wednesday’s goodbyes? Since the season-ending 44-6 loss to Philadelphia, Jones had talked to many inside and outside the organization about Owens. Those discussions heated up at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis last week and again this week.

T.O. dug his own grave and is on a long road to redemption. Terrell just thinks he is misunderstood, of course. SMH
