Remember last month when Google paid homage to beloved Harlem Renaissance writer Zora Neale Hurston on her birthday with their google doodle? Well the popular search engine is back at it again, shining a light on Harriet Tubman as Black History Month kicks off! And no Porsha, there’s no railroad in the picture… SMH. When you click on the logo this is a list of the web search that comes up.
Do you think they’ll use a different Black History Month icon for every day of the month? We could definitely get used to seeing black folks on Google’s homepage every day. Who else would you like to see Google spotlight?
Oh and it turns out that Google isn’t the only big name getting into the Black History Month spirit. Hit the flip to see what Bey’s doing this February.
Via Beyoncé Tumblr:
In honor of African American men and women who have worked diligently dedicating their lives to inspire our future, I want to shine a spotlight on their achievements and sacrifices during Black History Month. These are some of the unsung heroes, past and present. For 28 days I will highlight their stories in hopes to inspire, motivate and move you.
Are you looking forward to getting some Black History Lessons from Bey?
We’re glad to see she’s got a few obscure faces in that collage.
