La La Says Kevin Garnett Never Made ‘Honey Nut Cheerios’ Comment

Remember last summer when NBA ballers Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett almost came to blows during game after KG allegedly made a comment that Melo’s wifey La La Anthony tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios?

Well, Mrs. Melo addresses the incident in her newly-released literary love guide titled “The Love Playbook,” and she says it never happened.

It was national news, but apparently there was no truth to the reports that Kevin Garnett told Carmelo Anthony that LaLa Anthony tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios.

“I wasn’t ever going to bring up the Honey Nut Cheerios incident again, but since I’m writing this book, I might as well set the record straight,” LaLa wrote in The Love Playbook. “Kevin Garnett in fact had never said that I tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios.”

Whatever Kevin said to Carmelo resulted in a physical altercation between to the two men, but no one but the fellas involved may ever know what words were really exchanged.

“I did notice during the game Melo and Kevin were jawing a lot at each other, but that’s basketball,” LaLa reasoned. “I really didn’t think anything of it… I knew it had to be more than an in-game beef.”

At the time LaLa laughed it off, suggesting the trio receive some royalties for giving the brand-name cereal some attention. “Not for nothing, but we ALL deserve a check or some free cereal 4all the publicity we’ve given Honey Nut Cheerios! LOL #cantbelieveeverything,” she tweeted back in 2013.

No matter what was said, LaLa said they’ve moved on.  “…Melo and Kevin are cool today, and now it’s nothing but a faint memory.”

Good to know they patched things up and got over it like men. Congrats to La La on her book landing at number one on the New York Times best-seller list! Will you be checking out “The Love Playbook?”
