This is terrible news

In the next 20 years, deaths from cancer are expected to rise to about 13 million per year, from the present 8.2 million and those who have been diagnosed with cancer are expected to rise from 14 to about 22 million annually, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The report by WHO states that the world’s countries will not be able to afford the rising costs to treat cancer patients in the future and something else must be done in order to fight this disease.

The World Cancer Report from WHO continues that the estimated $1.16 trillion that is being spent on cancer treatment for patients by the world’s governments, is already about as much as they can possibly bear without going into financial decline.

According to Christopher Wild, director of the International Agency for Research on Cancer, in order to fight the ever increasing number of patients who are being diagnosed with Cancer, treatment is not enough.

Wild went on to say that the global crisis on cancer can only be fought effectively by focusing more on prevention and early detection of cancer. He added that there is a need for the global community to get together and act fast to find preventative programs that will go hand in hand with the newest treatment techniques.

According to the WHO report, almost 50% of cancer cases can be reduced from developing further if they are detected early enough and patients can help the risk of developing cancer by eating properly and doing more exercise.

We don’t know about you guys, but we’ll definitely be doing all we can to keep our bodies healthy and prove these statistics WRONG!
