An unlucky gentleman met his untimely fate at the hands of Donte Stallworth’s Bentley:

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth reportedly hit and killed a pedestrian with his Bentley in Miami Beach on Saturday (March 14).

According to the Associated Press, the police say that Stallworth hit the unidentified man while he was crossing the busy causeway that links downtown Miami with Miami Beach at around 7 a.m.

The man was pronounced dead after he was rushed to a nearby trauma center. Although he was near a crosswalk, it’s not clear if he was crossing legally.

28-year-old Stallworth is said to be cooperating and has not been charged just yet. However, officers have taken blood samples from the football player to test for drugs or alcohol in his system.

At press time, it’s unclear what circumstances caused the accident.

Stallworth — a former New England Patriot — is currently under contract with the Cleveland Browns, where he signed a seven-year, $35 million contract as a free agent before last season, but hardly played because he was hurt.

This sounds like it could have just been a tragic coincidence. RIP to the man who recently met his maker.
