Seattle Firefighters Arrested For Beating Of Homeless Man
Two firefighters are accused of drunkenly beating up a Seattle homeless man for sleeping on a memorial dedicated to firefighters who have died in the line of duty.
A woman walking with the two firefighters started the fight.
The drunk trio were leaving a Sounders soccer game on Saturday night and as they passed through Pioneer Square, they saw a man sleeping on the Seattle Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
The woman was so offended by the transient that she yelled at the man and kicked him.
The two firefighters joined in and started the brawl. One of them picked up a stick and hit the homeless man, wrote Seattle Police Department spokeswoman Renee Witt in a statement on Saturday.
“My brother died in the service,” said one of the firefighters, according to KING-5 reporters, before he kicked the victim.
Don’t think that because ol’ boy was homeless that he was some type of punk though…
The homeless man defended himself and took out a knife and stabbed one of the firefighters, later identified by KOMO-TV as Scott Bullene. He was taken to a local hospital and is now in stable condition, according to Seattle Fire Department spokeswoman Sue Stangl.
The homeless man refused treatment, Stangl said.
Seattle Police officers arrested the woman and one of the firefighters on assault charges. Their names have not been released.
Bullene will face assault charges after he’s released from the hospital, Witt wrote.
Moral of the story is: Don’t get full of that alcohol, in a park and think you bad. If you and your drunk homie start actin’ up, a homeless guy might stab yo azz!
