Your girl, J-Hud, will be returning to American Idol to show those mofos what time it really is:

The girl whose career rocketed to stardom after NOT winning ‘American Idol’ is returning to the series that voted her out.

Jennifer Hudson, the Oscar-winning actress and singer, will reportedly be making a special appearance on the highly-popular FOX series. The Associated Press reports that someone close to the show revealed she will perform not live, but in a taped segment to appear in an upcoming episode.

Hudson has slowly returned to the spotlight since the brutal murder of her mother, brother and nephew in Chicago last year. She sang the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in January and appeared on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ in February.

Hudson, 26, won a Grammy last year for her self-titled debut album. She won the Oscar for her big screen debut as Effie White in “Dreamgirls.” She has gone on to appeare in several films, including “Sex and the City” and “The Secret Life of Bees.”

She first gained notice during the third season of “American Idol,” but was voted off, even though she was considered the favorite to win.

Maybe she didn’t win that contest, put perhaps snuggling with her Grammy at night provides some level of comfort.
