Jailhouse Cook Accused Of Licking Sandwiches And Serving Them
A cook has been accused of licking sandwiches, and serving them to probation and parole officers at the South Valley New Mexico Women’s Recovery Academy.
Investigators interviewed a number of people who said they saw Yolanda Arguello do it.
They told investigators they’d heard Arguello say she didn’t have to serve probation and parole workers, and that she’d show them who was special and “better than others.”
They said she would take a piece of cheese, lick it and put it on sandwiches at the facility.
Witnesses said Arguello tampered with ice, too, by dumping cubes on the floor, putting them back in the pitcher and adding tea before serving.
Another witness said they saw Arguello suck on an ice cube and put it back into a cup before handing it to a staff member.
She is also accused of telling an officer she’d make him or her a special grilled cheese sandwich and allegedly licking the cheese before putting the sandwich on the grill.
One of Arguello’s roommates said the allegations are false.
Arguello’s security clearance has been stopped for the time being, according to the Department of Corrections.
The cook is charged with three counts of battery on a peace officer.
