Gunfire erupted in a Miami neighborhood last night and police are still working to piece together the exact details of what happened. The shooting has left 10 people injured with 2 confirmed dead.

At least 10 people were shot — two fatally — in an eruption of gunfire outside an apartment building in the Liberty City section of Miami early Tuesday, according to local media.

Five people were taken to the hospital, where two died, according to Miami police spokeswoman Frederica Burden, The Miami Heraldreports. The two deaths were reported earlier by NBC Miami.

The shootings occurred around 2 a.m. at Northwest 12th Avenue and 65th Street in Liberty City in Miami. The Herald reports that dozens of markers indicate bullet casings along the ground and on the walls of the apartment building.

The report said it was not immediately clear if anyone has been killed or whether suspects are in custody.

One woman tells NBC that her 17-year-old sister was shot at the scene and rushed to the hospital.
