This grey-haired gentlenmen has bought a 10,127-square-foot home in Bantam, CT, called the Rye House, paying a seven-figure sum for the property, according to The New York Post. Built in 1908, the elegant Rye House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

He is the youngest son of famous American heiress, socialite and fashion designer Gloria Vanderbilt.

The three-story Rye House has an Olympic-size swimming pool and is located in the plush, suburban town of Bantam in Southern Connecticut, an area home to many movie stars and celebrities. The estate is situated on 48.9 acres including Japanese gardens and lush landscaping.

The mansion has ten bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and two half bathrooms. One of the luxury features of the estate is an additional four-bedroom guest home on property.

Local schools include Litchfield High School, James Morris School and Rumsey Hall School.

He and his partner Benjamin Maisani purchased the home from Karen Shaw, an actress who starred on TV shows including “The A Team” and “Dallas”. According to property records, the last listed price for the home was $2.59 million as of May 7.

He makes approximately $11 million a year working for CNN, and has extended his contract with the network through the year 2016.
