To Tweet or Not to Tweet

Jim Jones was apprehended by the Law for a minor violation and outstanding traffic ticket, and all the while he was just-a-tweetin’ his tail off with updates:

Rapper JIM JONES was arrested on Tuesday (07Apr09) – and gave fans an online running commentary on the incident.

The hip-hop star was pulled over by police in Teaneck, New Jersey in the early hours of Monday morning (06Mar09) for an equipment violation.

Cops took him to a local station after realising he had an outstanding traffic ticket, but the star later handed over $120 (£82) and was released.

And during his entire time in custody, Jones was able to relay the incident to fans via his page on social networking website Twitter.com.

At 12.24am, the star revealed he had been stopped in his car by cops, writing: “I decide to drive by myself let’s see how this plays out.”

Later, while he was still in police custody, he downplayed the situation and assured fans he was alright: “Well, it didn’t go the way I wanted I’m in the precinct but I still have my phone they ain’t trippin, they said just procedure.”

After he was released, Jones laughed off his arrest, vowing at 1.53am never to make the same mistake again: “The funny part was watching them have to count all the money in my pocket lol (laugh out loud) I must say they were very cool. And it was a punk a** warrant from 2005 for 120 dollars. Make sure you pay old tickets.”

It’s safe to say that mofos are getting carried away with all this tweeting business, but we can definitely understand sweaty Jimmy’s solemn responsibility of keeping his enormous fan base on the up and up.
