Owners Write “Free” And “I Need A Home” On Abandoned Dog

Heartless dog owners dumped a poor pup on the streets after scrawling the words “free” and “I need a home” over its body.

The abandoned pooch was reportedly discovered sitting all alone on a downtown Benicia, Calif., road on July 3.

Luckily, she was picked up by passerby Shannon Bettencourt, who took her in for the night before deciding to officially adopt her.

“She was scared, shaking and kind of whimpering,” Bettencourt told NBC.

“I was heartbroken, it was really sad. Nobody wants to see an animal like that ever,” the restaurant worker added.

Fearing that animal control officers would seize the dog, Betterncourt initially took her home.

“(The dog) was obviously well taken care of, you could have easily found a home for a dog like this if you really gave it half an effort,” her fiancé, Christopher Franco, told the station.

It’s one level of scumbag to just abandon your dog in the streets, but it’s a whole ‘nother level of rancid azzhole to WRITE on her fur. SMFH.
