Most people money hungry and that don’t want the real headache of running their own business sell part of their Co. but still have what’s called a ‘good stake’ in their Co. And she probably made sure that in her contract that she would remain the face of the Co. so it would appear as if she still controlled it.

I never bought any of that crap, too ghetto and cheap looking.

We are in a recession! Nobody can afford to pay for bull-shyte! All that airbrushing looks expensive! She should just start her own clothing line (not lease a line from another company, i.e. Kellwood) that way she can’t get fired.

If this is true about Kimora’s spend thrift habits, then it’s justified. Retail is barely surviving in this economy, so costs and expenses must be kept at a minimum. If she still owned the company, then she could do whatever the hell she wants, however dumb it may be. But when someone else buys the company and a$$umes all the risks involved, then, I’m sorry, Kimora…you are a liability. I just hope that they weren’t too quick to pull the trigger. As the former owner, Kimora should have garnered some level of respect.

On another note, Kellwood is out of pocket for a$$uming Kimora’s kids would work for free. They would have had to pay an outside kid model anyway, so that’s bullshyt.

What happen is that Russell owned both Phat Farm and Baby Phat. When he sold the Phat Farm he also sold Baby Phat too. Kimora stayed on as Executive Creative Designer. I think I spelled that wrong. But she was also the face of the company. Kellwood owned the both companies for years. Not sure how long but it’s been a while.

I remember on Top Model, Tyra was telling one of the models how expensive photo shop and air brushing is because the model had picked up a lot of weight. So I believe it is expensive for extensive airbrushing especially airbrushing a plus size woman down to a size 2.

industry. If she was fired without cause, then she has the right to sue, but honestly, this is the best thing to happen to her. Most grown women don’t wear Baby Phat anyway and her KLS line is very limited and a bit expensive too. Creating a brand new brand, without all the constraints of the legacy of Baby Phat, will allow her and her team to create sophistcated and affordable clothing that grown women can be proud and excited to wear.

Kimora’s kids were more than just models they were part of the brand for Baby Phat. The company has not made money in years, if ever. I would imagine it about to become defunct as so many unprofitable fashion lines have.
