The issue with weaves are close to my heart. I have been mocked on this very site for admitting that I wear my hair natural. I was called nappy headed and a racist, ironically. So this business about wearing weaves isnt about wanting versatility. It is about valuing a certain hair type above and beyond your own. Yes white women wear weaves but they arent changing their hair to wear one. I have to perm than add a weave on. My hair goes from coiled to straight, then I have to keep straighting it because God dont like ugly and he just forces my natural hair to come back. It aint a perm, its a temporary. Time for a touch up boo. Nature done caught up with your ass.

I have an internet style that doesnt see the light of day when I deal with my husband, family, friends, etc. I go hard on black females on line because they deserve every minute of it.

There is a hudge difference between changing the texture of your hair and changing the color, and length. Madame CJ Walker wouldnt have made her first million if she didnt offer black women in oppurtunity to escape their natural hair texture from “nappy” to straight. From unmanageable to manageable. Watch the part of Malcom X when he is in prison trying to conk his hair so you can see it goes beyond simply changing your style. You black females are in denial about this. The weave is the same texture of a white womans natural hair. Not so for a black woman.

I live in the Netherlands and I know many girls of color have entered this contest who not only looked better but had more than this winner had to offer.

They didn’t stand a chance in hell as you can see by who ended up in the finals.

I don’t agree with the hateful comments about black women bodies at all.

I’m a white woman who works in the beauty industry and I’ve seen alot of black women with cellulite but an equal number of white women with the same problem. What I do agree with is that black and white women have a totally different view on body image. Where white women want to be skinny with big breasts, a black woman would like to have her curves on the lower parts of her body. It’s all good, nothing to hate about.

Back to topic, I just don’t agree with the judges choice, and that’s my opinion.
