Eva Marcille Defends Tyra Banks And ANTM

Former ANTM contestant and season 3 winner Eva Marcille is riding hard for her supermodel mentor Tyra Banks.

The veteran Victoria’s Secrect vixen turned talk show host and producer came under fire last week when Eva’s fellow former ANTM contestant and season 7 winner Cari Dee English put Tyra on blast claiming that she doesn’t do enough to ensure the continued success and support of the ANTM winners after they leave the show.

But Eva says it aint so. She recently told The Grio’s Chris Witherspoon:

“This woman [Tyra Banks] gave you a platform to display whatever it is you wanted to display at the best of your ability and you leave that and now knock her for not carrying you on her back? Tyra can only do what she can do. She has her own career, her own life, and she gave all of us a leg up,” Eva said. “No one owes me a campaign, a job or contract. I’m supposed to go out and get that. People go on Top Model and they expect “I’m gonna leave here and I’m now Naomi Campbell.” I’m sorry that’s definitely not how it works. Check your e-mail because it’s not right.”

Both Eva and Cari Dee’s comments come on the heels of another former ATNM contestant’s recent appearance on Dr. Phil for her addiction to meth which started the Tyra bash-fest.
